In this video we compare features in the older OpenERP 6.1 to the new featuers in OpenERP 7.0. The video was produced with an early alpha build of OpenERP 7. We can expect there will be quite a few changes during the beta period and before final release. The team at First Class Computer Consulting has been working with version 7 now for several months. It has proven remarkably stable and relatively bug free for where it is at in the development process. Best of all, the development team has done a great job of streamlining the interface and working on usability. All of the strengths of OpenERP 6.1 are still in place. The software is still modular, it is still open source, and it still is easy to customize for enterprise solutions.
During the video we show the features of OpenERP 6.1 vs OpenERP 7.0 side by side. During the next several weeks we will be producing videos that cover OpenERP 7.0 in more detail. Many thanks to everyone in the OpenERP community. Finally we have an ERP solution that is open source and powerful enough to stack up against competitors like SAP. No longer will companies be held hostage to rising license fees and limited customization options.
